Job Description and Duties

The position is assigned to service the Division of Integrated Science and Engineering (DISE) specialized program area application development. The position serves as an assistant to the solutions developers for the Environmental Scientific application portfolio. Responsible for work activities associated with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Design and develop application system frameworks and application software components to support unique elements of the Environmental program requirements. Evaluate, design, develop, implement, and integrate activities/tasks for application systems to meet DISE environmental science needs. Perform development of application services and objects, user interface, unit and system testing, application documentation, and maintenance.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The incumbent must possess knowledge and experience in application design and development, database design and Data modeling, and Industry System Development Life Cycle Methodologies and practices, and systems analysis. The incumbent must also demonstrate knowledge and abilities in Event-Driven Applications, service-oriented Architecture (SOA), and systems Analysis. The incumbent must have knowledge and experience in application development using programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic, .Net, ASP.Net/VB, C#, MVC. etc. The incumbent must have knowledge of data conversion and migration from Oracle or SQL database.
