Tasks:
1: Provide mentoring to treatment staff to cultivate their clinical skills and ensure high quality of patient care.
2: Identify security breaches, including aggressive behavior of patients that could affect the health and safety of staff and patients.
3: Provide direct treatment to patients during individual/group sessions and document observed patient responses and progress.
4: Prepare and update Treatment Plans to reflect patient’s current and ongoing recovery needs.
5: Assist in the de-escalation of aggressive behavior of patients.
6: Assist management with information regarding patient progress, behavioral issues, and assessments to maintain facility service needs, resources, and staff development needs.
7: Participate in monthly reviews of each patient in order to provide input on progress in recovery, and report on any collateral contacts.
8: Review patient’s chart to assist in identifying any further needed treatment objectives and make recommendations to ensure effective treatment.
9: Assume advocacy role with patients by apprising them of services and resources available to help their recovery.
10: Administer Psychometric testing to patients using appropriate methods.
11: Administer intelligence and personality testing (including actuarials) to patients.
12: Evaluate findings of intelligence and personality testing in integrated reports by reviewing patient records.
Knowledge, Skill, or Ability:
1: Knowledge of basic principles of behavior analysis, including implementation techniques.
2: Knowledge of ethical considerations regarding behavior modification.
3: Knowledge of behavioral assessment procedures to increase adaptive and decrease maladaptive behavior.
4: Knowledge of managing behavioral emergencies.
5: Knowledge of basic types and characteristics of developmental disabilities.
6: Knowledge of methods of defining and measuring behavior.
7: Knowledge of methods of collecting and displaying data.
8: Knowledge of methods to promote behavioral generalization and maintenance.
9: Knowledge of theory and techniques of psychometric testing.
10: Knowledge of theory and techniques of intelligence, personality testing (including actuarials).
11: Ability to analyze complex behavior of patients and staff.
12: Ability to work with professional personnel to coordinate effective behavioral services.
13: Ability to motivate patients to participate in treatment groups and therapeutic programming.
14: Ability to prepare reports and keep records to be included in treatment plans.
