Tasks:
1: Assist with the planning and organization of producing television/video programs including the operation of video tape recording and production equipment.
2: Assist in the technical and artistic development of video/television programs including the preparation of graphics, narration, dialogue, sound effects, and music as required to ensure efficient unit operations.
3: Coordinate the maintenance of video and electronic equipment to record, edit, and transmit radio and television programs, video conferencing, and/or multi-media presentations, for the creation of multimedia productions, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
4: Encode files and make DVD/VHS duplications for facility wide and department wide requests as necessary to maintain video library according to facility policies and procedures.
5: Provide assistance in the planning and organization of technical work in video production projects, in addition to subject research and development of scripts.
6: Provide assistance on the technical and artistic development of certain videos including the development of graphics, narration, dialogue, sound effects, and music as required in the production.
7: Videotape conferences, meetings, and special facility presentations as requested according to facility policies and procedures.
8: Provide equipment setup and tear down services of audio/video equipment for facility training and special presentations as needed.
9: Coordinate and organize the video tape library for ease of accessibility to ensure efficient unit operations.
10: Prepare existing tapes for broadcasting on a network including dubbing and editing to ensure efficient unit operations.
11: Monitor network performance for quality and reliability and troubleshoot as necessary to ensure efficient unit operations.
12: Monitor for out-of-stock supplies, low inventory and notify supervisor to ensure materials and supplies are ordered and received before inventory is depleted.
13: Recognize and document unsafe equipment or environmental conditions and notify supervisor or management in order to ensure safe unit operations.
Knowledge, Skill, or Ability:
1: Knowledge of techniques in television and multi-media production in order to create television and multi-media material.
2: Knowledge of sound recording equipment and techniques in order to provide quality audio for television and multi-media productions.
3: Knowledge of video and still television photography in order to produce professional quality images for television and multimedia production.
4: Knowledge of videotaping techniques and procedures to record conferences, meetings, and other gatherings as necessary.
5: Knowledge of television set staging and lighting to produce appealing television and multi-media images.
6: Knowledge of editing methods and techniques including the use of editing software to produce effective and creative television and multi-media programs.
7: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words and proper grammar.
8: Ability to develop creative and engaging television and multimedia productions for educational purposes and distribution of multimedia productions.
9: Ability to operate a wide variety of television cameras and sound equipment tasks and projects related to television and multimedia programs.
10: Ability to learn script writing and narration to assist in the development of workable scripts for television and multi-media productions.
11: Ability to understand graphic placement, movement and editing aesthetics in post-production.
12: Ability to understand written instructions, short memos and/or electronic correspondences.
13: Ability to use word processing software to write scripts and electronic correspondences to effectively communicate with peers and management.
14: Ability to possess and maintain sufficient hearing and vision to effectively perform the essential functions of the job.
15: Ability to properly lift up to 60 lbs. (lifting through the knees) of equipment, climb ladders and work in tight spaces as required.
