1. Administer fiscal and contract management for programs (e.g., hospital, psychiatric, dental).
2. Conduct studies, research, and gather data (e.g., compliance, staffing, patient population).
3. Consult with health care staff, medical specialists, and local county and city agencies.
4. Coordinate and/or develop health education programs.
5. Develop and implement health care policies, procedures, new programs, local operating procedures, and general policy directives.
6. Manage, supervise, and participate in the training and development of health services professionals and/or support staff.
7. Monitor inventory control and purchasing procedures.
8. Participate in and/or oversee the recruitment and selection of health professionals or support staff.
9. Perform fact-finding investigations related to patient allegations and/or personnel complaints.
10. Plan, organize, and direct the administrative activities (medical/health services support, and security services) of a health care program (e.g., hospital, psychiatric, dental).
11. Plan, organize, and direct the work of staff in health and ancillary services support disciplines for a medium or large sized licensed inpatient health care facility and/or outpatient medical, psychiatric, or dental program.
12. Review and evaluate health care policies, procedures, and new programs.
13. Review, evaluate, and oversee licensing requirement audits for a licensed facility.
14. Review, evaluate, and oversee the preparation of appropriate corrective action plans for licensing and certification surveys and citations issued by regulatory agencies.
15. Work closely with custodial and/or security services in order to ensure safety and efficiency in the delivery of health care.
