Job Description and Duties

If you are looking for a fast-paced, stimulating environment. with plenty of team spirit, then you should consider the Air Resources Board's Research Division. This Staff Services Analyst position is under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I of the Administrative Section. This position will provide support for a 90-person division in the areas of contracts, budgeting, and personnel. The specific duties shall include, but are not limited to the following: Participate in analytical studies of organization and personnel management, advise management on staffing needs, personnel policies and procedures, and prepare appropriate documents in the areas of recruitment, hiring, the competitive rating process, and reclassification justifications. The position will act as division liaison with the Human Resources office, working closely to resolve any position control or other issues. The position will also coordinate and implement the Division's new employee orientation process. In addition to the above personnel duties, the position will research, analyze and develop contract amendments, co-sponsorship contracts, and service agreements. Research and make recommendations on appropriate methods to obtain equipment, process equipment purchases, and maintain a tracking system for equipment purchases and operating expenses.
