Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Sup) (AA I (Sup)), the incumbent will perform professional accounting duties of average difficulty in the Collection, Cashiering and Payroll section, performing duties such as monitoring and collecting monies due to the department. CARB does accounting for 2 BUs, CARB - 3900 and CalEPA - 0555.


Incumbent will review and analyze the credit card charges and email credit card receipts to vendors and programs. Review and reconcile daily Zero Balance Account Report.  Assist with the daily Report of Collections, a listing all the day’s cash receipts.  Completed Report of Collections will display all information required for each amount collected, (i.e., transaction code, fund and appropriation identification, and item description). Input the Report of Collections into Fi$Cal. The completed report of credit card charges will display all information required for each amount collected, (i.e., FI$CAL transaction, fund and appropriation identification, and item description). Review and process refunds to vendors, log and distribute Office Revolving Fund (ORF) checks for employee salary advances, travel advances, and expense advances. Update various logs within the unit for proper audit trail. Assist other staffs in the unit when necessary. Answer daily calls regarding payments via telephone and/or emails.
