Job Description and Duties

The Department of State Hospitals – Napa Registry Department is currently accepting application for Permanent Intermittent Licensed Vocational Nurse.  In order to maintain a position in the Registry all permanent intermittent employees are required to work a minimum of: Twelve (12) 8-hours shifts per calendar month at least six (6) of which must be weekend shifts. Three (3) major holidays and three (3) high need days per calendar year must be worked (requirements are defined in Registry Guidelines). These minimum requirements are based on current operational need and may be subject to change

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness.  Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
