Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the city of Chico.

 

COVID-19 Impacts to Working at DOR

DOR is closely monitoring the status of COVID-19 and ensuring our staff are supported in a safe work environment. While working on-site at any DOR facility, employees must follow current COVID-19 health orders issued by the California Department of Public Health or local health jurisdiction. DOR offers a hybrid work environment including in-office and remote work options for various positions.


Under the close supervision of the Rehabilitation Supervisor/Senior Rehabilitation Counselor, the SA will assist in collecting and disseminating information necessary for consumers/SVRC-QRP’s in developing well thought out vocational plans, as well as, preparing job readiness and job placement action plans.

They will assist in analyzing and evaluating data, preparing recommendations, reports or correspondence, conducting interviews and completing electronic case notes.

Under the close supervision of the Staff Services Manager I /Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor - QRP, the SA assists in ensuring that applicants and consumers obtain needed services in a timely manner. The SA provides a variety of follow-up services as directed by the Staff Services Manager I or Counselor. The SA keeps necessary case records and performs other miscellaneous duties as directed.

The SA will assist the Rehabilitation Counselor in building productive community relations and may assist in conducting presentations and orientation sessions.

The SA may perform other activities as directed by the Rehabilitation Supervisor related to the provision of vocational rehabilitation services.

Working Conditions

Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants, Graduate Student Assistants:

Seasonal Clerks, Student Assistants and Graduate Student Assistants are not allowed to work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year. The anticipated time worked will be 20 hours per week. If selected, the employee will receive an hourly compensation based on the number of hours worked.
