Job Description and Duties

Our Investment Controls and Operational Risk (ICOR) group is currently seeking an Investment Officer (IO) III/II to be responsible for a broad base of operational, policy, and regulatory issues and drive our CalPERS mission.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate the identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of operational risks, and conduct independent reviews of the operational risk processes and controls.
  • Promote industry best practices and standards for operational risk management, make appropriate recommendation to senior staff for improvements or enhancements, and coordinate with other risk functions. 
  • Oversee operating events, provide a framework to assess operational risk levels, and consult with staff to enhance controls and reduce operational risk.

Interview Dates: We anticipate interviews to be held one month from the final file date.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
