The Board is a regulatory agency under the umbrella of the California Natural Resources Agency. While the Department of Water Resources (DWR) provides administrative support, it's important to note that we have our own independent authorities, roles, and responsibilities. Our mission is to reduce flood risk within the Central Valley by overseeing flood project planning and construction within floodways and levee systems. Our work directly impacts the well-being and security of communities in the region, making it both challenging and incredibly rewarding. By joining, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, positively impacting public safety and the environment. Learn more about the Board and its mission at cvfpb.ca.gov.

The Board is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic Encroachment Permitting Program. In this hybrid position (two days in-office weekly), you'll play a key role in safeguarding our regulated jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 23, Division 1, Waters.

Be the expert our team relies on. Review encroachment permit applications, guaranteeing they meet necessary standards. Collaborate with the U.S.A.C.E., environmental scientists, applicants, and consultants.
