Interested applicants much submit a Standard State Application (STD 678) along with a document titled
Statement of Qualifications to be considered for this position. The response to each question should be no
longer than a half page and prepared using a minimum 11-point font, totaling no more than two pages. The
Statement of Qualifications should provide responses to the following:
1.) Please describe your management experience, either functioning as an immediate supervisor and/or lead
on a project or team. How many persons did you oversee and what was your role? Include any experience
you have dealing with staffing, recruitment, coaching, mentoring, training, performance review/evaluation,
project management, workload planning, etc.
2.) Review the duty statement and briefly share a relatable project implementation effort that involved multiple
decision-making bodies and worked across multiple systems. Provide a challenge/barrier you had to
overcome, a lesson learned, and the outcome.
3.) How do you prioritize your work managing staff, managing projects with multiple competing priorities and
deadlines? Be sure to share tools and resources used/developed.
4.) As a Staff Services Manager I, you are regularly required to train staff and customers on work products,
processes, and procedures. Please describe your experience training others. Give examples of your specific
experiences, both formal and informal.
5.) Describe your experience in contract and grant processing, including designing targeted or supplemental
funding methodologies, developing budget proposals, drafting Request for Proposals or Applications, and/or
tracking program expenditures and invoices.
