Job Description and Duties

This is a permanent position in the city of Sacramento.

As a Training Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by nurturing and enhancing the talents of our workforce. You'll collaborate closely with department leaders to identify training needs, design engaging learning experiences, and deliver impactful programs that inspire continuous growth and professional development.

Responsibilities:
• Training Program Design: Create innovative and comprehensive training programs that align with the company's strategic goals and meet the specific needs of various sections within the department.
• E-Learning Development: Leverage technology to design and deliver e-learning modules that enhance accessibility and reach remote employees.
• Onboarding and Orientation: Develop and facilitate onboarding sessions for new hires to ensure a seamless integration into the company culture and values.
• Learning Assessment: Implement effective evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and make data-driven improvements.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with department leaders to identify skills gaps and emerging training needs to maintain a dynamic and relevant training curriculum.

This position is eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. Telework options include the ability to report to the office as often as two days or more per week.

Statement of Qualifications

1. Describe how your experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and/or training qualifies you to perform the duties of the position; include tools you are proficient in using including any experience with a Learning Management System.
2. Describe your experience and knowledge of conducting training needs assessments, developing training programs, creating training materials, and delivering training in person and virtually.

Candidates will be asked to make a 10-minute virtual presentation during the interview.

Examination Information

We are using the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) as the appropriate certification list and candidates must demonstrate meeting the minimum qualifications of both the Training Officer I and the AGPA classesIf you have taken the AGPA exam, you are encouraged to apply if you meet the minimum qualifications for both the Training Officer I and AGPA classification. If you have not taken the AGPA exam, you will need to take the AGPA exam to be hired for the Training Officer I position
