In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Three (3) years or more of work experience with increasing responsibilities working in a Legislative Office in the Executive or Legislative Branch of California State government.
• Familiarity with the California health care system, health care legislation, and health care regulatory functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy, legislation, and budget matters to support the regulation of insurance and enhancing consumer protection.
• Successful track record in analyzing and problem-solving highly complex policy matters to recommend creative solutions to benefit consumers.
• Extremely high level of self-initiative and follow-through
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to diverse and varied audiences
• Exceptional sound judgment, confidence, tact, and discretion given sensitive policy discussions.
• Demonstrated experience in advising executive management and elected officials.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with team player attitude in managing and motivating teams.
