SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL)

Under direction of the
State Park Interpreter III this position will collect fees, greet visitors, assists
in cleaning historic buildings, assist the interpretive staff with
interpretation and education programs and activities, special events, outreach,
housekeeping of reconstructed historic buildings, fee collection and visitor
services operations. This position is required to wear a State Park uniform.
The reporting location for this position is La Purisima Mission State Historic
Park, 2295 Purisima Road, Lompoc CA 93436
The
incumbent will operate the entrance kiosk, collect fees, help with park
operations and cleaning historic buildings, assisting in interpretive /
educational programs and working in the visitor center.
Work
hours will vary, and applicants must be able to work days, weekends, holidays
and special events. The incumbent may work in other park units within Channel Coast District as
directed. A Department and District approved uniform is required to be worn during work hours.
Demonstrated interest in outdoor life and natural history and human history; neat personal appearance; good communication skills in speaking and writing, work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
Knowledge of: The operation of park
facilities; lead responsibilities; and basic principles of dealing with
employees and the public.
