Job Description and Duties

DWR's Northern Region Office is dedicated to fostering a positive influence on Northern California's environment and communities.  As a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), you will join a community of committed professionals collaborating to support programs and partners throughout the region.  We thrive in a technically focused environment, constantly refining our skills, and making a tangible impact in the regions we serve.

 

Under the direction of an Environmental Program Manager I, in the Land and Water Use Section of the Watershed and Environmental Assessment Branch, Division of Regional Assistance (Division), Northern Region Office (NRO), the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) coordinates the activities and supervises a team responsible for urban and agricultural land and water use data collection, analysis, planning, water balance studies, and climate data collection.  This position is responsible for leading, guiding, and stewarding an ongoing program to collect, organize, and analyze regional land and water use data that is high quality and supports planning and sustainable water management programs, including establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with representatives of federal, State, local, tribal, and nongovernmental organizations.
