Possession of a valid certificate of registration as an electrical engineer issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required for this position.
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
Candidates selected for this position must successfully
pass a Department of Justice background check and the incumbent is also
required to sign CHP Form 101A annually.
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)-Applicants must also submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The SOQ is a discussion of how an applicant's education, training, experience, and skills meet the criteria in the duty statement and qualify the applicant for this position.

1. Detail your experience in leading or supervising electrical engineering systems including planning, directing, managing, and maintaining Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field elements, communications systems, and electrical infrastructure. Highlight how your leadership has contributed to operational efficiency and system performance.
2. Describe your experience in asset management and team leadership, including administrative responsibilities that highlight critical skills required for the position, such as team oversight, managing multiple priorities, collaborating with various stakeholders, problem-solving, and research.
3. Provide your experience in addressing complex transportation problems, with a focus on implementing innovative, technology-driven solutions, and explain how you organized and led teams to execute these solutions in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
4. Discuss your relevant qualifications and experience for the duties and responsibilities required of the position.
