We are a fast-paced, busy office that provides excellent customer service to hiring managers by providing guidance on hiring packages and position management. As a Personnel/Human Resources Liaison, the analyst will work closely with Planning and Modal Programs (PMP) hiring managers, candidates, and the Caltrans' Division of Human Resources to fill vacancies and manage positions efficiently and effectively.

Under the direction of the PMP Branch Chief of the Hiring Liaison & Position Management Branch, a Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst serves as a Personnel/Human Resources Liaison between the divisions of PMP and the Division of Human Resources. The Personnel/Human Resources Liaison is responsible for providing guidance on a variety of assignments in the areas of hiring and position management for the divisions within PMP.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst / Staff Services Analyst exam. Working Conditions

Position is located in Sacramento, Sacramento County


This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
