Job Description and Duties

SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / ALTAMONT SECTOR

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. The reporting location for this position is Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area, 18595 West Corral Hollow Road, Tracy CA 95376
. Under direction of the Senior Park and Recreation Specialist (Sector Manager) and taking direction from the State Park Interpreter I.

 

In compliance with department policies, the Senior Park Aide is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all visitors. The Senior Park Aide is responsible for leading interpretive programs such as Junior Rangers, guided walks, evening programs, and field programs at riding destinations (booths/pop up), public outreach programs, informal roving interpretation, and school group programs. The Senior Park Aide is responsible for assisting with social media, assisting with researching and creating new interpretive programs, and assisting with researching and creating new interpretive panels and exhibits. The park aide is responsible for regular basic cleaning and maintenance of interpretive exhibits and equipment and basic administrative work.

 

Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and special events. Hours and days are flexible. Occasional travel may be required to assist other park units or for in town school programs and community outreach. Must be willing to operate off-highway vehicles. The Senior Park Aide will perform their duties dressed in an approved State Park uniform.
