Job Description and Duties

MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) – ANGELES DISTRICT / BALDWIN HILLS SCENIC OVERLOOK

 

” Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. The reporting location for this position is Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook located at 6300 Hetzler Road, Culver City, CA 90232. This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I/Park Maintenance Supervisor and lead by the PMWI/PMWII/ or Skilled Laborer.

 

The primary duties will answer questions from the public, explain park rules and regulations, will operate light vehicles, account for supplies used, unskilled maintenance; performs various housekeeping, groundskeeping and minor maintenance repair takes; completes miscellaneous reports. Keep facilities clean and perform general unskilled maintenance within Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and may work in various locations within Los Angeles Sector and Angeles District.

 

Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting. May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, rain, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises and may have to walk on uneven ground at times. May work in remote locations.

     

Must be able to work holidays and weekend.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

 

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

 


This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.
