Job Description and Duties

Hybrid Telework Opportunity

The Compliance Officer (CO), Health Facilities Construction (HFC) evaluates the seismic compliance programs of general acute care facilities and compliance deadline extension requests to comply with the requirements of the Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act. The CO, HFC also performs the construction compliance phase of projects and observes the construction of healthcare facilities as required to ensure work is performed in substantial conformance with the plans and specifications approved by Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) and in compliance with Title 24, California Code of Regulations (CCRs) (including all referenced codes and standards there within), the Office’s Policy Intent Notices, Code Application Notices and other applicable codes, guidelines and policies, and other reference materials consistent with the CO’s training and experience.


This position is subject to the Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests filing requirements, which requires disclosure of certain personal economic interests as determined by the Conflict of Interest Code of the Department of Health Care Access and Information. Pursuant to Government Code section 81008, Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests is public record and will be made available for public inspection.

Working Conditions

HCAI offers a hybrid telework schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work schedules for CA residents only. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises. If you are interested in maintaining a life/work balance and not dealing with a daily commute, then this position may be for you!
