Job Description and Duties

The Seasonal Clerk assists in the maintenance of official health care facility construction project files (hard copy and electronic) and provides support to OSHPD with converting hard copy files to an electronic medium.

Working Conditions

Seasonal Clerks may work up to 40 hours a week but cannot work more than 1500 hours in a calendar year.

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving state public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive state public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TNF eligibility or a copy of their last aid check stub. Special Requirements

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts for verification.  Official transcripts will be required upon appointment.  If it is determined an application does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position.  Applicants who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of personal computers and software, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and possess good attendance habits.
  • Good spelling, grammar, filing, and organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively and work cooperatively with others.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in communicating with management staff, support staff, and the public.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience operating office equipment.
  • Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties and the ability to manipulate documents weighing up to 40 pounds including the ability to transfer the documents onto a cart and push the cart to various locations within the Office.
