In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
(1) Knowledge of and experience in engineering practices/techniques related to municipal and industrial wastewater conveyance, treatment, disposal, and reuse.
(2) Experience conducting field investigations and inspections at municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
(3) Experience conducting water quality sampling and analysis.
(4) Experience with evaluating multi-disciplinary problems that may involve intersections between engineering, biology, chemistry, hydrology, hydraulics, and other water resource related fields.
(5) Experience analyzing, managing, and presenting data and producing technical reports and correspondence.
(6) Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and experience evaluating complex environmental documents.
(7) Working knowledge of the California Water Code, federal Clean Water Act, relevant policies, regulations, and an understanding of the water quality issues in the Central Valley area.
(8) Project management knowledge and experience.
(9) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
(10) Working knowledge of computer applications (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Minitab, and PowerPoint).
(11) Collaboration knowledge and experience working in teams; leading teams; managing group discussions; and integrating multiple different ideas and views to make a recommendation or to facilitate a decision.
(12) Engineer-in-Training certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
