Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Administration (CEA B), the Information Technology Manager I serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for the overall management of the information technology resources for the Office of Tax Appeals (OTA). The CIO directs the planning, organization, and implementation of enterprise IT services and systems, in support of OTA’s business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development. The incumbent is responsible for supervising all levels of IT staff in a combination of domains.

Working Conditions

  • This position is a hybrid telework schedule. The telework schedule is at the discretion of the Department and based on Office of Tax Appeal’s telework policy.
  • The workstation is equipped with standard or ergonomic office equipment, as appropriate.  
  • Travel may be required to support remote locations, attend meetings or training classes.

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as a narrative discussion to illustrate how the candidate’s education, training, experience, and skills have prepared you for this position.  The SOQ also serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present a written response to the following questions, both clearly and concisely.  The written response should be typed and no more than two (2) pages in length, single spaced, and 12 Arial point font.

1. Describe your information technology knowledge, citing clear examples of the IT domains you have experience.
2. Describe your supervisory/management experience, both of personnel and IT enterprise services and systems.

    Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for the Information Technology Manager I and have certification (reachable) list eligibility, transfer eligibility, Limited Examination and Appointment Program (LEAP) eligibility, reinstatement rights and/or State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) (please include SROA letter (attach letter if applicable).
