Job Description and Duties


Under the general direction of the Assistant Program Budget Manager, the incumbent serves as the Chief of the Information Technology Consulting Unit (ITCU). ITCU is responsible for performing fiscal oversight of IT projects, and evaluating the fiscal, operational, and programmatic impacts of new statewide policies and directives proposed by the California Department of Technology. The incumbent leads ITCU staff in the oversight of non-delegated IT projects, review and analysis of statewide IT policies and directives, and development of Finance authored policies, including Budget Letters, Finance Memos, and State Administrative Manual sections. The incumbent supports the department in the development of the Governor’s Budget and legislative bill analyses. The incumbent represents Finance on IT policy and project oversight issues. The incumbent may testify before the Legislature regarding IT policy issues and IT projects.

Special Requirements

Finance operates under a hybrid telework model, which requires employees to work in the office (report to headquarters) for a minimum of two days during the workweek. The hybrid policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required at management's discretion.
