Job Description and Duties

The Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II), working as a Senior Compliance Specialist in the Information Systems Security Management Section, provides technical and analytical leadership in the areas of information security architecture, policy, standards, governance, risk and compliance management. The ITS II works independently and collaboratively on multiple waves of analysis, design, development, implementation, operations, and maintenance of software systems and the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) system. While the duties for this position are focused in the information security engineering domain, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.

Working Conditions

At FI$Cal, we offer remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework for three or more days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

 

This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, maintain good working habits and adhere to all policies and procedures.

The incumbent provides back-up, as necessary, to ensure continuity of departmental activities.
