The reporting locations for this position are various locations within the Angeles District including but not limited to Point Mugu SP, Leo Carrillo SP, Robert H. Meyer SB, Malibu Creek SP, Topanga SP, Will Rogers SHP, Los Angeles SHP, and Baldwin Hills SO. This position will work under the direction of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist with direction from the Staff Services Analyst overseeing the Visitor Services Program.
The Senior Park Aide works districtwide to support the needs of visitor services and special events. Duties include performing routine public contact, informing the public of the rules and regulations of the park, operating entrance stations, collecting fees, maintaining accountability documents, performing interpretive activities, assisting in maintenance and housekeeping of facilities and grounds, operating state equipment and performing resource management work, as well as interpretive enforcement. The employee will mainly conduct visitor services contacts, providing guidance and information about the park, as well as education and interpretation of park rules. The employee will assist both the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist and Staff Services Analyst with ideas and solutions to issues related to protecting the historic park and surrounding community, as well as inform supervision of any hazards or issues. The incumbent will assist with interpretive enforcement of park rules while supporting and monitoring special events. This position will enforce parking restrictions, interpret rules and regulations, protect State Park property as it relates to the limits of a Senior Park Aide and other related duties as they arise.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
