Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of fellow Californians while achieving your career goals? Do you set high standards for yourself and enjoy a collaborative and challenging work environment? The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) serves, aids and protects needy and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility and foster independence. CDSS employees are our most important resource in serving California’s needy and vulnerable children and families.
The Office of Audit Services (OAS) assists and supports California Department of Social Services (CDSS) management with ongoing independent assessments of the Department's internal and external control strategy and effectiveness, and a detailed accounting of audit recommendations and implementation of the recommendations. The OAS adds value by improving the control, risk management and governance processes to help the CDSS achieve its mission and business objectives. The vision of the OAS, in keeping with professional standards, is to collaborate with management and promote good governance, strengthen policies and procedures, systems and processes, and provide high-quality, professional, timely, and responsive services.
We recognize our staff are critical to operating efficiency and compliance of social service programs provided to Californian families. As such, we believe in investing in our people. Learning from one another, truly caring about the people we work with and supporting flexible work schedules, our team constantly seeks innovative strategies to improve our program’s outcomes. We consistently seek ways to improve and support our team.
