CAL FIRE will create a qualified applicant pool to fill vacancies for 2025.

It is anticipated that job offers for Fire Apparatus Engineer positions may be made beginning the week of May 27, 2025.
Candidates are encouraged to have a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and CPAT prior to job offers.
Job offers will only be made to candidates who have provided a copy of the appropriate driver’s license.
Hire dates will be as early as June 16, 2025. Job offers may be withdrawn if you do not possess the appropriate driver's license, have a valid CPAT, and/or complete the medical clearance process by June 2, 2025.
Please note: there is no longer a "three decline rule" relating to the number of times that an applicant can decline a job offer. Declining a job offer will not affect a candidates list status.
