PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I/CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT/SAN JOAQUIN SECTOR/MILLERTON LAKE STATE RECREATION AREA
This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Millerton Lake State Recreation Area in Friant, CA. The PMW I performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair of park systems and facilities. The incumbent may act as a lead person for other staff and work crews. Performs semi-skilled and manual labor to maintain and repair buildings, structures, campsites, picnic facilities, roads, parking areas, trails, fixtures, water and sewer systems, irrigation systems, performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry and electrical work on facilities. Installs signs, fences, repairs roads, lays asphalt and clears culverts. Uses power and hand tools in the accomplishment of the work.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Saturday to Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
