The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is looking for a talented and exceptional Assistant Deputy Director for a high performing office to support and carryout the mission of DCA. Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Board and Bureau Relations, the Assistant Deputy Director, provides assistance to the Deputy Director in the oversight role to the various boards and bureaus within the department. This position is responsible for ensuring effective coordination between the department and the boards and bureaus under the department’s purview.

A flexible work schedule, including telework, will be considered consistent with Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-22-25.

Department Information

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.

DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. Special Requirements

Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
