Job Description and Duties

This is statewide recruitment. Reporting location will be the closest OEIS office to the selected candidate’s residence.

This position is remote-centered and is eligible for telework up to 3 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under general direction of the Electrical Safety Policy Division Program Manager, the incumbent is charged with jointly overseeing the Electrical Safety Policy Division’s wildfire mitigation plan (WMP) evaluation process for nine electrical corporations, developing WMP Guidelines, leading the Division's work to review existing safety requirements and other wildfire mitigation programs as required. The Supervisor will assist the Program Manager in the formulation of policies and practices to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the Division. The Supervisor will lead, supervise and direct the work of staff within WMP Branch A.

4. Knowledge of utility grid operations, emergency management, wildfire risk reduction and / or public safety power shutoffs (PSPS).
