This position works under the supervision of the Supervising State Park Peace Officer (Ranger) and general direction of the State Park Peace Officers (Rangers). The reporting locations for this position is Morro Bay State Park Campground and Morro Strand State Beach Campground.
The incumbent is responsible for operational needs of the kiosk and visitor services duties within the South Coastal Sector visitor services program. Duties include but are not limited to: Meet and greet the general public, register campersDisseminate information about the park rules and regulations, operate a motor vehicle, handle reservations, effectively communicate with other park staff, managing operating funds, make correct change for customers, prepare accurate records of daily transaction activities, maintain various accountable documents, operate an electronic cash register, successfully prepare campground reservation information using computer softwareIssue refunds, troubleshoot problems with reservations, maintain a clean work space, post updated bulletins, raise and lower flags as appropriate.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
