Job Description and Duties

Do you enjoy helping other people and interacting with others? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Administrative Operations Unit (AOU) team within the Food and Drug Branch (FDB).

Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs work of average difficulty and provides the less complex and analytical support in a wide variety of administrative and analytical assignments within the Food and Drug Branch (FDB), Financial Operations and Program Support Section, Administrative Operations Unit (AOU). The SSA is responsible for purchase requisitions and procurement transactions, assists in the use of specialized equipment and services, and provides support for equipment repairs and maintenance. Provides administrative support for the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) and reviews and approves web content for publishing, ensuring compliance with Office of Communications (COMMS) guidelines.

The SSA classification consists of three alternate ranges and as the SSA advances within the classification ranges, their responsibilities are expected to show broader knowledge of the work environment, and organizational and/or departmental requirements while the scope of work increases.

Working Conditions

Telework Information     

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH’s Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.

Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee’s designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
