Job Description and Duties

The General Services Department is accepting applications for full time, permanent Custodian Supervisor I position. The successful candidates will work as members of the Housekeeping Team within the Department of General Services. Some of the duties will require the ability to regularly conduct inspections of public and patient living areas, prepare and maintain reports on cleaning activities, work side by side, train employees and assist in the continuous improvement of housekeeping performance. Good attendance, punctuality, and attitude are important characteristics. Only the most qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. A duty statement is available in the General Services Office.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Range A. This range shall apply to incumbents who do not meet the criteria for payment in Range B.

Range B. This range shall apply to incumbents that are employed by the California Correctional Health Care Services, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Department of Veterans Affairs, California Prison Industry Authority, Department of Development Services, or the Department of State Hospitals.

Prior to movement to another class in State service or the same class in another State agency, an employee receiving compensation under Range B shall first be returned to Range A at a salary the employee would have received if they remained in Range A.

Movement between Range A and Range B shall be based on California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.681.
