RESEARCH DATA ANALYST I – STRATEGIC PLANNING & RECREATION SERVICES / SACRAMENTO, CA
The reporting location for this position is 715 P Street, Sacramento CA 95814. The Research Data Analyst I will work under the direct supervision of the Research Data Manager.
California State Parks is looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual who is interested in providing high-quality GIS support for a dynamic Parks & Recreation Statewide GIS program.
The Research Data Analyst I participates in a diverse GIS team supporting the needs of Parks strategic planners, publications designers, natural and cultural resource stewards, facility managers, and roads & trails crews. The incumbent will be responsible for the organization & analysis of data and cartographic support of the Strategic Planning and Recreation Services Division, Communications and Marketing Division, real estate acquisitions, and stewardship of statewide GIS data. This includes the integration of GIS technologies with databases supporting cultural and natural resources, inventories of roads & trails and facilities, remote sensing, Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), and the use of field applications for collection of GIS data. The incumbent will be proficient in using ArcGIS Pro to Adobe Illustrator workflows and processes to create polished cartography for publications and other external uses. This position will also play a role in responding to emergency situations that may impact State Parks, such as wildfire, flooding, and pandemic response. Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification and experience with UAS is a plus.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Occasional travel is required. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application.
