This position is entitled to a $250.00 pay differential per month based on Bargaining Unit and/or work location.
The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for an Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) in its Toxics Cleanup Division. The office is located at 1515 Clay Street, Suite 1400, Oakland, CA 94612.
Duties:
Under the general direction of the Assistant Executive Officer, a Career Executive Assignment, the incumbent plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Toxics Cleanup Division distributed among four work units (sections), which includes the following programs: Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program (petroleum UST discharges) and the Site Cleanup Program (non-petroleum-UST discharges). Duties include preparing Division and program work plans and performance targets, providing day-to-day guidance, reviewing completed work, and informing executive management of significant issues. Duties also include developing, reviewing, and commenting on site investigation and cleanup directives, and participating on regional and statewide forums pertinent to the work of the division. Administrative work duties include performance evaluations of senior supervisors and senior scientists, management of budget expenditures, adherence to agency procedures, and output reporting. Other duties as required include serving as backup for the Assistant Executive Officer and representing the Board in various meetings.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
