About this Role:
In support of the Division's strategic goals and the Department's mission–and under the general direction of the Project and Process Reporting Section Chief (Information Technology Manager I (ITM I)–this position provides expert leadership, direction, and advisory support to CA-MMIS project teams and CA-MMIS leadership across a range of areas, including: Project Portfolio Management, Project Management, Service and Operations Management, Vendor and Contract Management, Risk Management, Agile Process Management, and Technology Integration. The ITS II works independently or in a project manager capacity on highly technical and complex initiatives, applying advanced project management methodologies to ensure projects are completed withing defined scope, schedules, and budgets. The position serves as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership to project teams and strategic advice to CA-MMIS Operations Division leadership and program executives on a broad range of IT matters. The position is also responsible for developing and contributing to project and system development documents, including those required for state and federal project initiations and approvals.

This work location is very convenient! The CA-MMIS Division is located in West Sacramento near IKEA and Walmart. There are several restaurants and fast-food locations nearby, with Starbucks within walking distance. This location has easy access to I-80 and has FREE parking!
The incumbent works in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. The incumbent must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position at a workstation throughout the day and must occasionally position self to perform a variety of tasks including retrieval of files.
The incumbent is a Work Week Group E employee and is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week each year and may be required to work specified hours based on the business needs of the office.
