Job Description and Duties

Do you want to support the ecological and economic well-being of the largest estuary on the West Coast? The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy (Conservancy) is seeking someone with strong supervisory and program management skills to oversee its ecosystem and community and economic enhancement programs in the Delta and Suisun Marsh. This position offers a unique opportunity to not only manage programs that make a difference, but also to work closely with executive management to shape the organization’s programs. The Conservancy is a small, committed and collaborative team that works across departments and disciplines to protect, enhance, and restore the Delta's economy, agriculture and working landscapes, and environment.

In this position you will:

  • Oversee the implementation of the Conservancy’s Ecological and Community Programs.
  • Supervise, develop, and direct a professional team of staff in carrying out the Conservancy’s 2022-2027 Strategic Plan.
  • Manage complex projects that advance ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, nature-based solutions, community enhancement, and agricultural sustainability in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
  • Lead special initiatives that support and advance the Conservancy’s mission.
  • Communicate with Conservancy management and Board, interested parties (e.g., non-profits, community-based organizations, public agencies, tribes), all levels of government, and other entities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and build partnerships within the Delta community including non-profits, community-based organizations, public agencies, tribal entities, and more.

Special Requirements
