State Fund’s Regional Operation Unit is seeking a Middle Market Underwriter in San Diego who is solution-oriented, relationship-driven, and eager to drive profitable growth.

We may also consider candidates for the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Representative (WCIR) level.  Review the Minimum Requirements for both the Sr. WCIR and WCIR to determine where your qualifications place you.  

 

Regular travel will be required, primarily within San Diego County, with occasional travel to Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Salary Information: New to state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary for the classification.  Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience.  

In this Role You Will:

  • Evaluate accurate risks and issue quotes promptly and professionally
  • Retain and price renewals, while seeking new business to improve loss ratios and financial performance
  • Proactively manage your portfolio by identifying issues early
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers, producers, and account managers
  • Conduct regular field visits and attend client meetings
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as marketing, loss prevention, premium audit, and claims to enhance the customer experience
  • Participate in special projects to foster innovation and improvement within the organization
