Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for at least one (1) Permanent, Full Time, Psychiatric Technician (PT) (Safety) Grounds Presence (GP) / Horticulture position. The vacancy is under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor of Enhancement Services. The positions will perform the Level of Care Nursing duty, primarily focusing on the safety and security of grounds within the Secure Treatment Area, the visiting center, and the search team.
Enhancement Services is looking for an individual that possesses a high degree of professionalism, initiative and independence with performing tasks. Candidates must be able to communicate in a courteous, professional and effective manner with different departments throughout the hospital. Candidates must have the ability to be tactful, exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality when working with staff and management. The ability to multi-task and also prioritize responsibilities is also a required asset.
The candidates will work with the GP team to provide a safe and secure environment. The positions are crucial for the facility to continue to provide a structured safe and secure environment. A desirable candidate will be known for personal initiative, independent functioning, and a strong work ethic.
In addition, the qualified person must be patient-oriented, a collaborative team player, have awareness of safety/security, be patient, flexible and attention to detail.
Desirable qualifications consist of knowledge and skills with Excel and state assigned Personal Communication Devices (PCD). Knowledge of landscaping or gardening, general maintenance and care of landscaping tools and equipment, and co-providing treatment groups.
The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.
