In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with others
• Good writing and general communication skills
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license to drive 4x4 vehicles
• Familiarity of with principles of wildlife management and conservation practices
• Experience surveying wildlife, using radio-telemetry to locate wildlife, and assessing mortalities
• Experience in or willingness to participate in helicopter surveys of wildlife
• Word processing, data entry skills, and GIS mapping
• Good analytical skills and experience working with biological data
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep accurate records
• Special Personal Characteristics: Demonstrated initiative, paired with open-mindedness, adaptability, and tact.
