Job Description and Duties

Are you a seasoned safety professional who wants to make a difference?  Do you have the ability to manage a team of loss prevention staff who provide onsite loss prevention services help our policyholders make their workplaces safe?  State Compensation Insurance Fund has an opening for a Loss Prevention Manager in Central California.

As the Loss Prevention Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of staff that delivers onsite safety services for our Central California policyholders in the Central Valley territory.  You’ll be at the ground floor to create innovative approaches that make a difference.  In addition, you will be responsible to:

  • Supervise a team of loss prevention personnel
  • Assist management and senior staff in supervising, evaluating and monitoring the training of loss prevention staff
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert
  • Provide public presentations on occupational safety and health topics
  • Oversee the analysis of effectiveness of programs
  • Provide support for development of policies and procedures and provide support to management

Working Conditions

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
This position is a teleworking management position which must be located within the geographic territory being managed.  Safety & Health prefers the Area Manager for the Central Valley reside in one of the following counties:  Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Fresno, Kings, Tulare or Kern.

The selected candidate will be assigned to a State Fund physical office in 
Kern, Fresno, or San Joaquin county based on the candidates home address.
