Job Description and Duties

The Procurement and Contracts Analyst for the Division of Integrated Science and Engineering (DISE) will be responsible for managing the procurement of technical materials, equipment, and contract services primarily for the Bryte Chemical Laboratory. Duties include sourcing vendors, securing bids, preparing specifications, and ensuring compliance with state procurement regulations. The incumbent will track purchases through the Procurement Tracking System and utilize SAP software to create requisitions and process purchase orders. The role also involves coordinating with various groups and vendors for efficient delivery and invoice processing, acting as the liaison with the Accounting Office to facilitate payment. Additionally, the Procurement Analyst will manage receiving and distribution operations, resolve discrepancies, and assist in developing and maintaining contracts and inter-agency agreements. The incumbent will also be asked to lead special projects related to procurement and contract analysis, including expenditure tracking and data analysis for strategic decision-making.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated professional with demonstrated experience in procurement processes, including invoicing, financial transactions, and contract management.  The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who thrives working independently and takes initiative to streamline operations and ensure compliance with procurement policies.  Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and manage data effectively are essential.  A high level of customer service, combined with excellence in organizational and time management abilities, will be critical to success in this role.  The successful candidate will have experience with purchasing software and a solid understanding of procurement practices, rules, and guidelines.  Familiarity with budgeting, purchase orders, warehousing, receiving, and distribution processes is strongly preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams is preferred.  Experience using SAP or other proprietary systems is highly desirable as is familiarity with laboratory supplies and equipment.
