Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist I is a member of the Enterprise Systems Development web team and is responsible for development and maintenance of department’s web sites and remediation of electronic documents to comply with accessibility requirements. This position will provide technical support to the Department’s projects involving web development for static and dynamic HTML websites as well as SharePoint-based sites. This position utilizes expert skills in coding, testing, and maintaining custom, interactive, secure, mission critical websites and web accessibility requirements.

The Information Technology Specialist I must have the ability to learn new concepts, understand system to system relationships and interfaces and maintain cooperative working relationships with business partners and the development team to identify goals and objectives. The incumbent must possess strong organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills; works independently, participate in meetings, provide status reports, and completes work assignments in an effective, accurate, and timely manner. The incumbent must keep up with current industry trends, standards and practices related to web development, publishing, video production and accessibility requirements.

Special Requirements

Finance currently has a hybrid telework model, which requires employees to work in the office a minimum of two days during the workweek with additional in office days required as needed and sometimes on short notice, for reasons such as hearings, site visits, or required in-person meetings or trainings. Implementation of Executive Order N-22-25 requiring four in-office work days has been postponed until July 1, 2026, but may be subject to change.

    1. Describe your work experience in the areas of web development with emphasis on experience as a senior or independent developer of complex websites and SharePoint environments.
    2. Describe your knowledge, skills, and abilities in troubleshooting technical issues related to web development. Provide an example of a technical issue you encountered and how you resolved it. Include the tools you used and explain how they were applied to resolve the technical issues.
    3. Describe any experience in graphic design and video production and postproduction editing. Provide a portfolio of graphic works and examples of video clips. Include details about the tools you used in these projects.
    4. Describe your experience in remediation web pages, documents, and audio/video recordings to meet web accessibility requirements. Include any accessibility training you've completed.

  9. Ability to conduct unit, system integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
  10. Experience with designing logos, cards, brochures, and other graphic materials for publication and/or electronic distribution.
  11. Knowledge of best practices for web application development frameworks.
  12. Working knowledge of Visual Studio Code and Azure DevOps.
  13. Experience and proficiency in using Adobe applications including, but not limited to Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.
  14. Experience using Microsoft applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  15. Working knowledge of macOS.
