About this Role:
DHCS is looking for a qualified candidate passionate about leading a team of clinical staff to improve the quality of care and reduce health disparities in the Medi-Cal program. The Medical Consultant II (Supervisor) serves as the Section Chief over a team of Nurse Consultants, Medical Consultants, and a Consulting Psychologist, designing and driving forward high-impact improvement strategies. DHCS is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the clinical areas of behavioral health, child health, and/or maternal health. DHCS is also interested in candidates with real-world experience in quality improvement and who have demonstrated the ability to make positive change in complex environments in healthcare.
This role designs and drives high-impact improvement strategies and facilitates collaboratives to positively impact Medi-Cal members, via leadership of a team of clinical QI staff. The MC II (S) collaborates with internal DHCS divisions and external stakeholders to align strategies, spread and scale best practices, and promote system-wide improvements. They also contribute to key departmental policies and publications and lead the planning and facilitation of statewide meetings with health plans.
