Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
Under the general direction of the Chief Physician and Surgeon, the Physician and Surgeon (P&S) will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in treatment of patients within the Integrated Substance Use Disorders Treatment (ISUDT) program, evaluate, and treat patients with opiate and alcohol use disorders and assist in the development of a statewide addiction medicine program that prepares primary care providers to evaluate, refer and treat patients with substance use disorders (SUD). On-call duties and occasional travel to institutions and community health care organizations required.
This position is located in Telemedicine Services, Medical Services.The program provides vital primary care services to CCHCS patients in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s institutions via remote video conferencing. Utilizing the latest technologies, staff provides improved access to medical services statewide, while decreasing costs associated with transportation and custody, and risk to public safety. Currently, Telemedicine Services offers a wide range of specialty services including cardiology; physical medicine and rehab; oncology; dermatology; and ear, nose, and throat.
This position requires possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners and possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine Specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
