In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
1. Experience with investigations, including but not limited to interviewing, evaluating evidence, writing investigative reports, and supervising investigators.
2. Experience supervising staff and providing feedback for continuous improvement on oral, written, and analytical materials as well as operational targets.
3. Experience related to researching and analyzing policies, laws, and regulations.
4. Exceptional communication skills – orally and written – that demonstrates ability to deliver well-organized, accurate, clear and concise communication with all levels of management and employees, external groups, and local governments
5. Familiarity and/or experience with the juvenile justice system, youth justice reform, reimagine justice and/or restorative justice movement work.
6. Lived experience within the youth justice and/or child welfare systems.
7. Lived experience as a formerly incarcerated person or from a family with system involvement.
8. Familiarity and/or experience with community based organizations.
9. Familiarity and/or experience with workforce development at state and local levels.
10. Highly skilled in using Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Project, etc.
11. Ability to establish individual and team priorities, organize division workload, multitask, work well under pressure, and exercise initiative and flexibility.
12. Ability to be self-motivated and motivate a team, foster collaboration, and mutual respect as well as work independently and be detail and solution oriented.
13. Ability to make independent, sound, and ethical decisions regarding highly sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
14. Demonstrated experience analyzing complex issues and recommending effective courses of action utilizing critical and creative thinking.
15. Excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability.
