1. Describe your interest in the Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) and this
Analyst III position. In your response, explain how your professional background, leadership
approach, and subject-matter expertise align with OYCR’s mission to advance youth justice
reform, equity, and systems transformation. Please include why you are interested in leading
complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives within a statewide policy and implementation
environment.
2. Describe your experience leading youth justice reform and/or systems transformation
initiatives, including work focused on racial, ethnic, and gender equity. Your response
should demonstrate:
• Experience serving as a subject-matter expert or lead on complex policy or systems
change efforts;
• Oversight or coordination of multi-county, regional, or statewide initiatives;
• Experience guiding implementation (not just analysis), including problem-solving,
decision-making, and accountability for outcomes;
• How you have applied equity-centered frameworks to influence policy, practice, or
organizational change.
3. Describe your experience leading and coordinating across diverse sectors, including state
and county government, courts, probation, community-based organizations, tribal partners,
and other institutions. In your response, address:
• Your role in convening, facilitating, or supervising cross-sector collaborations;
• Experience setting strategic direction, aligning partners, or resolving competing
priorities;
• Oversight of technical assistance efforts, contracts, or external partners, including
assessing needs and guiding deliverables;
• How you have ensured collaboration results in measurable systems or policy
improvements.
4. Describe your experience working autonomously in a leadership or managerial capacity to
oversee multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Include examples of how you:
• Prioritized competing assignments and deadlines at a program or initiative level;
• Exercised judgment and discretion in making decisions without day-to-day direction;
• Managed or influenced staff, consultants, or partners to meet project goals;
• Balanced short-term implementation needs with long-term strategic objectives.
