The following factors will be used to competitively assess applicants. While all applicants are encouraged to apply, proficiency in ASL is strongly preferred due to the program’s direct engagement with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) communities. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the qualifications below:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and evaluate program data, grants/contracts, policies, and service outcomes.
• Experience supporting or managing contracts or grants, including monitoring performance, reviewing invoices, conducting site visits, or preparing reports.
• Effective communication skills in both English and ASL, with ASL proficiency strongly preferred, including the ability to engage with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, providers, and community partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, program and policy summaries, legislative or budget materials, or responses to inquiries.
• Ability to represent a program at community events, trainings, outreach activities, or stakeholder meetings while building positive relationships.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to make timely decisions while maintaining collaborative working relationships.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience analyzing legislation, regulations, or policies and preparing recommendations or summaries.
• Experience supporting or leading projects, such as developing Requests for Proposals/Requests for Applications, program materials, or coordination efforts.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, CDSS and Office of Deaf Access programs, civil rights requirements, and services for DHH communities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and other tools used for tracking, collaboration, and reporting.
• Experience working effectively in team environments and contributing to shared problem-solving and program goals.
