All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position.
- Resume is required and must be included.
- Statement of Qualifications -
The SOQ is a narrative discussion regarding how the applicant's education, training, experience, and skills meet the Desirable Qualifications for the position. In addition, the SOQ serves as documentation of each applicant's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. In your SOQ, please address how you possess each Desirable Qualification using specific examples of your education, training, and/or experience. Each response must provide at least one example of how you have met each desired qualification. Please address and number the Desirable Qualifications in the same order as listed on this bulletin under the Desirable Qualifications section. The SOQ must be typed, single spaced, 12-point Arial font, and no more than 3 pages in length. In the top right corner include page number, name, and JC# on each SOQ page. Applicants who do not submit a SOQ or follow these requirements may be rejected. Cover letters and resumes do not take the place of SOQs. Applicants will be evaluated on how clearly and concisely their qualifications were presented throughout the SOQ (including grammar, spelling and punctuation) and the SOQ will be the only tool used to score and determine whether an applicant moves forward to the interview process.
